America Today kiest voor RFID-oplossing van Nedap

Eerste RFID roll-out in de Nederlandse retailmarkt

Nederland, Groenlo, 19 Februari 2019

Nedap’s !D Cloud software selected for first large-scale RFID deployment in the African retail market

Groenlo, The Netherlands, 11 January 2019

South African value retailer Ackermans has signed a three-year contract with Nedap for the supply of !D Cloud, Nedap’s leading RFID software platform, to its 800 stores in Southern Africa. Ackermans is the first retailer in Africa to roll out RFID on such a large scale. The primary objective of this endeavor is to increase in-store stock accuracy in order to optimize replenishment processes from warehouse to stores.

Marius Jordaan, Operations Systems Manager at Ackermans explains: “We know that the on-shelf availability of our apparel items is crucial in our large-format stores. If a certain size is missing, we will lose that sale. We understand that RFID is the ideal solution to raise stock accuracy and to guarantee that the full size range is always available on the sales floor.”

Proving the business case
The decision to roll out Nedap’s !D Cloud software was preceded by a proof-of-concept at ten stores to confirm the RFID business case. During the proof-of-concept, weekly RFID cycle counts resulted in approximately 98% stock accuracy. This led to improved product availability and, ultimately, increased sales.

Helmuth Luttig, Commercial Director comments: “We knew that selecting the correct platform partner would be critical to the success of our project, therefore after extensive market research, we selected Nedap as our long-term service provider. Key reasons for selecting Nedap is their ability to scale, their cost-effective software, their extensive roll-out experience, and their community-based feature development program.”

Mark Kasbergen, International Business Development Manager at Nedap Retail, concludes: “What makes this RFID deployment unique is that, together with our local partner StegTech, we have successfully managed to build a business case for value retail. This project clearly shows the profound benefits associated with increased in-store stock accuracy. We are proud of our achievement as well as the learnings gained by signing up the first Southern African retailer for a large-scale, source-tagged RFID rollout in the region”.

Nedap at NRF Retail’s Big Show: Fastest growing RFID platform now available in the US

Groenlo, The Netherlands, 10 January 2019

At the upcoming NRF retail’s Big Show in New York, from 13 to 15 January 2019, Nedap (booth #4547) officially launches the !D Cloud software platform in the US. !D Cloud enables retailers to boost the inventory visibility in retail organizations, leading to a perfect on-shelf product availability and enabling true Omnichannel retailing.

“!D Cloud is the fastest growing RFID platform in the market with major roll-outs in Europe and South Africa over the past years. We also already deployed several stores in the US for our global customers, but now the time is here that we are ready to deploy major projects in the US with a dedicated local team,” states Rob Schuurman, Managing Director at Nedap Retail.

Inventory visibility with RFID
The !D Cloud software suite is a Software-as-a-Service solution specifically developed for retail applications, giving retailers the quickest route to implement RFID and improve their in-store stock accuracy to over 98%. The detailed insights into the stock accuracy and the exact location of each item is also the basis to successfully introduce Omnichannel concepts like “click & collect”, “ship-from-store” or “buy online & return offline” without adding complexity or a separate supply chain.

Schuurman comments: “We continuously strive to lower the barriers for RFID. The latest feature we have developed is ‘virtual shielding’, which provides reliable sub-location data and eliminates the need for ‘physical shielding’. In our view, this is another breakthrough to make it easier and more cost-effective for retailers to deploy RFID.”

Nedap’s !D Cloud software selected for largest RFID deployment in Nordic retail market

Groenlo, The Netherlands, 18 October 2018

Voice Norge AS selected !D Cloud, Nedap’s leading RFID software platform, for the RFID roll-out to their 200 stores in Norway. The roll-out, which was completed within 6 months, is the largest RFID deployment in the Nordic retail market to date.

Johnny Ottesen, CEO at Voice, comments: “We realized that we needed to significantly raise our stock accuracy to improve our on-shelf product availability and enable true omnichannel. In !D Cloud, we found the best solution, because it is scalable, easy to use and easy to integrate with our Infor M3 ERP-software, which enables a fast large-scale deployment.”

The full roll-out was preceded by a pre-rollout in four stores, resulting in 98+% stock accuracy, which led to a better product availability and an increase in sales. Based on these results, Voice decided to roll out the !D Cloud solution to their 200 stores in the Voice chain, which includes the Match, VIC and Boys of Europe stores.

“We are proud that our !D Cloud software was selected by Voice, which is the largest RFID deployment in the Nordics to date. It is really exciting to support retailers in solving their stock accuracy challenge. From now on, Voice can offer omnichannel services like Click & Collect and redesign the customer journey,” explains Mark Kasbergen, Global Business Developer at Nedap Retail.

Celio selects Nedap’s !D Cloud software for large-scale RFID roll-out

Groenlo, The Netherlands, 12 September 2018

Nedap today announced that the French menswear retailer Celio has selected Nedap’s !D Cloud software for the RFID roll-out to their 750 stores across Europe. The full roll-out takes place over a period of less than 10 months and will be completed in November 2018.

Nedap’s !D Cloud software suite is a Software-as-a-Service solution specifically developed for retail RFID applications, giving retailers the quickest route to implement RFID and improve their in-store stock accuracy to over 98%. The real-time item-level insights into the stock levels and the exact location of each item is also the solid foundation to successfully introduce Omni channel concepts like Click & Collect.

David Teboul, Senior Vice President Global Retail at Celio explains: “We are a multinational, multi-sourcing, multi-channel retail company, which means that every change in the market place is multiplied. The evolution towards true Omni channel retailing is really exciting, but it also means that we needed to make a ‘quantum leap’ in stock accuracy to bring visibility to the sales environment. Using !D Cloud, we can offer a better shopping experience, because by the end of 2018, our customers can decide when, where and how they want to shop our brand and get the product delivered with the same quality experience.”

At first, Celio focusses on raising the in-store stock accuracy by using RFID for goods receiving and weekly inventory counts in the stores. For this, Celio uses the !D Cloud software, in combination with Zebra mobile RFID readers, which feeds accurate stock data back in Celio’s ERP system from SAP. Additionally, the point-of-sale is integrated with !D Cloud to track sales and returns and use RFID for electronic article surveillance to prevent losses and enable full item-level visibility in the store.

Teboul adds: “Next to the right RFID features, we were also looking for a user-friendly solution and the feedback that we are getting from the stores is very positive. The acceptance and enthusiasm from our store teams is very high, because the solution helps them to provide better service.”

“We are very proud that Celio has selected us as their RFID partner to transform into a true Omni channel retailer. Our !D Cloud software platform is a hardware-agnostic EPCIS repository that gives retailers the much needed stock visibility, because every single event such as location changes, sales or returns is tracked on item-level. Once you really know what you have and where it is, you can act much more agile, offer customers a better shopping experience and uplift sales”, comments Rob Schuurman, Managing Director at Nedap Retail.

Misako to use Nedap’s !D Cloud RFID software in 200+ stores

Groenlo, The Netherlands, 6 November 2017

Spanish fashion retailer Misako will use Nedap’s !D Cloud Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) software solution in its 200+ stores and in its distribution centre. By using !D Cloud, Misako is able to raise its stock accuracy to over 98%. Having full transparency of  its store stock levels is an essential part of the retailer’s international growth strategy.

Excellent match
Jean François Thuilliez, Deputy CEO at Misako: “Accurate stock data will strongly contribute to our current stores’ performance and enable our international expansion. We are a very lean organization and Nedap’s !D Cloud solution is an excellent match with our way of working. It is easy-to-use, light on our IT resources and highly scalable.”

By raising the stock accuracy on item-level to over 98%, Misako is able to increase the on-shelf availability, improve the DC-to-store replenishment and also improve the speed of their online and Click & Collect orders. Thuilliez: “In today’s omnichannel world, we need to know exactly where our merchandise is. Only then, we are able to speed up our processes and truly integrate our physical stores with our web shops. True integration means that we have one single pool of products and we know the exact location of each individual item.”

RFID in the cloud
All items are source tagged at the retailer’s production facilities. In the stores, staff members perform a weekly count using an RFID handheld reader and the !D Cloud app on a mobile device to determine which items are available. !D Cloud then highlights the discrepancies between Misako’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and the RFID count. Consequently, the causes of stock differences – through losses or administrative errors – can quickly be identified and dealt with.
