Filippa K selects Nedap to power omnichannel fulfillment

Inventory visibility throughout the supply chain results in higher product availability

Nedap announced today that leading Swedish fashion brand, Filippa K, has deployed !D Cloud, Nedap’s inventory management platform. With the implementation of RFID technology, Filippa K improves inventory accuracy and increases product availability throughout their retail supply chains and stores for agile omnichannel fulfillment.

Maximizing customer satisfaction with minimum inventory levels

Filippa K is known as a brand that approaches fashion with a perspective of longevity and mindfulness of the environment. Overstocked stores and distribution centers and high safety thresholds to confidently fulfill e-commerce orders do not fit these values. Emelie Berggren, Fulfillment Director at Filippa K says: “Our challenge is to provide the full brand experience throughout all channels. Product availability is key to achieve this. One major objective was to have a lean fulfillment process, with only the products on shelf that are strictly needed. This way, we minimize waste and this is also what our community expects us to do. RFID technology helps us to always have the right products available online and in our stores.”

Best-of-breed technology for digital transformation

Filippa K opted for a best-of-breed solution that fit their objectives and use cases. Nedap’s API-based software-as-a-service platform allowed Filippa K for ease of integration within their ERP-system. This built the foundation to easily feed the most up-to-date product availability information into the e-commerce platform from Episerver and the Sitoo POS and Unified Commerce Platform. This way, Filippa K operations will increasingly focus on the customer and unify brick-and-mortar and online shopping experience.

Exploring additional use cases with RFID

The project, fully deployed in a month, started small with the objective to optimize in-store item availability. Shortly after, Filippa K decided to implement services that allow customers to return in any desired store. In addition, centralizing inventory in order to transfer items between stores or back to the distribution centers allows Filippa K to turn a loss into a sale. “Our next step is to directly fulfill e-commerce orders from store. In addition, we are looking into leveraging our source tagged merchandise for loss prevention purposes. This will further optimize efficiency and item availability”, Berggren says.

Nedap and Novatec intensify partnership to further unlock the potential of loss prevention systems in German market

The Netherlands, Groenlo, December 14, 2020

Nedap N.V. and Novatec GmbH today announced that they will scale up their collaboration in the German market with regards to Nedap Retail loss prevention solutions. This step is a result of a close and long-standing relationship. Novatec will be commercially and technically responsible for the majority of Nedap loss prevention business in Germany, supported by Nedap. Both organizations have stated that the arrangement will take effect on January 1, 2021.

Inventory management solution

Nedap also intensifies its activities in the German market with regards to promoting !D Cloud – Nedap’s leading RFID-based inventory management platform in the apparel and fashion industry. A dedicated team of Nedap experts will focus on assisting retailers to adopt RFID. !D Cloud is used by fashion retailers worldwide to improve merchandise availability in stores and throughout their supply chains, in order to execute a successful omnichannel strategy. Nedap announces five-year extended warranty on EAS products

Groenlo, The Netherlands, 9 April 2019

Nedap today announces, warranty on all new iSense-based EAS systems will be extended for up to 5 years. This applies to connected systems opted with a Fast Remote Service subscription, installed after March 31st.

It is essential for retailers to make sure their EAS systems are well-ran, in order to prevent losses by e.g. theft. Nedap provides an online platform, allowing to solve 81% of the service calls remotely, without the need to dispatch a technician to the store. This keeps system downtime to a minimum, saving retailers both time and money on maintaining EAS systems.

Rob Schuurman, Managing Director of Nedap Retail explains: “Connectivity already is widely adopted amongst retailers in order to give their customers the best possible shopping experience. You can tell by the fact that data-driven concepts such as Secure Mobile Payment are gaining popularity.

Nedap iSense EAS products have a standard warranty term of 1 year. Extended Warranty will be available for new stores with connected systems for the period of a Fast Remote Service contract (3 or 5 years) after March 31 2019.

Nedap introduces new iSense Lumen 3-in-1 RFID antenna

In-store hardware for article surveillance and article tracking

Today, Nedap announces the global launch of its new iSense Lumen line. It is the latest extension of Nedap’s successful iSense hardware platform for article surveillance and article tracking in retail stores. In the first half of 2017, Nedap will introduce three iSense Lumen antennas starting with the Lumen iL45, which offers new user feedback functionalities. It can be used at multiple locations in a store, thus optimizing the retailer’s product availability.

Intuitive user feedback with light & sound
The iSense Lumen antenna line is designed to enhance the user experience through advanced light and sound options. The multi-colored lights and state-of-the-art speakers notify the store staff about  the cause and urgency of specific events with light and sound signals.

Hilbert Dijkstra, Product Manager at Nedap Retail, explains: “iSense Lumen is another big step forward in the development of article surveillance solutions. It is the result of great feedback we got after the introduction of iSense in 2014. With iSense, we completely redefined the way electronic article surveillance works, because of its intelligence. The system recognizes individual items, detects the direction of the item and gives instant feedback to the store staff.”

Intelligent 3-in-1 RFID antenna
The Lumen iL45 antenna can be placed at three key locations in a store to track article movements. At the entrance, it is able to detect which items are leaving the store and it will activate an alarm with items that have not been paid for, thus minimizing losses. The antenna can also be placed between the stock room and the sales floor to track article movements and in the back to track new deliveries.

Varner selects Nedap’s loss prevention solution

Groenlo, the Netherlands — March 22, 2016

Norwegian fashion retailer Varner-Gruppen AS has selected Nedap as their new technology partner to lower the shrinkage in their retail stores. The retailer has 1,500 stores in eight European countries for a range of fashion brands. Varner will implement Nedap’s electronic article surveillance (EAS) solution, including RF antennas at the exits of stores, POS solutions and consumables. Nedap’s offering also paves the way to a growth path towards RFID, connectivity and source tagging, which can deliver additional benefits in relation to stock availability, real-time insights and cost savings.

Nedap and Axis launch EAS camera integration at EuroCIS 2016

Nedap Retail, a global leader in loss prevention and stock management technology for the retail sector, and Axis Communications, market leader in network video, introduce a joint solution based on Nedap’s electronic article surveillance (EAS) solutions and Axis’ camera’s and video management software (ACS). This joint offering will officially be introduced to the market during EuroCIS, 23 – 25 February.

Effective alarm management
By combining Nedap’s !Sense EAS solution with Axis cameras, retailers benefit from a future-flexible IP-alternative to enhance their in-store security network. The joint solution makes it possible to record all RF/ RFID EAS alarms in the video management software. The Axis Camera Application can also raise alarms and trigger live views in ACS. This enables time savings and a more effective shrink reduction.

EuroCIS 2016: Nedap showcases stock availability solutions

At the upcoming EuroCIS trade show in Düsseldorf, from 23 – 25 February 2016, Nedap presents stock availability solutions for the global retail sector. The key solutions presented by Nedap (booth 10A02) are the !Sense hardware portfolio and the !D Cloud software suite. These solutions enable retailers to permanently lower their shrinkage levels and significantly improve their on-shelf merchandise availability.

!Sense : Concealed EAS systems & effective alarm management
Nedap’s !Sense portfolio includes RF/ RFID antennas and smart readers for electronic article surveillance (EAS) and in-store merchandise tracking. At EuroCIS, Nedap will showcase its hybrid (RF/ RFID) pedestals and concealed solutions – a RAIN RFID overhead reader and a door-mounted RF antenna. These solutions blend seamlessly into the store design, offer a better customer experience and enable a larger selling space in the highly frequented entrance area.

To support the store staff with their alarm management, Nedap presents plug & play IP-integrations with pagers and the cameras and video management software from Axis Communications. With the pager integration, staff members instantly receive a discrete signal in case of an EAS or metal detection alarm while the Axis integration makes it possible to record all EAS events in the video management software. The Axis Camera Application for !Sense can also raise alarms and trigger live views. This enables time savings and a more effective shrink reduction.

!D Cloud : Accurate stock data & omni-channel enablement
The !D Cloud software suite is a Software as a Service solution specifically developed for retail applications, giving retailers the quickest route to implement RFID and improve their in-store stock accuracy to over 98%. !D Cloud translates the collected data from RAIN RFID readers in the stores into comprehensive lists that highlight the out-of-stocks and overstocks. Thereby, the causes of stock differences, through losses or administrative errors, can be identified and dealt with more quickly.

A better understanding of the actual on-shelf availability enables retailers to finally do perfect replenishment which proves to significantly increase sales. The detailed insights into the exact location of each item also makes it possible to connect the stock of the physical stores with the retailer’s online platforms. Decathlon advances with global RFID implementation

Nedap’s hybrid RF/RFID solution selected for 15th country

Groenlo, the Netherlands, 11 June 2015

French sporting goods retailer Decathlon has selected Nedap for its RFID roll-out in Croatia. Worldwide, Croatia is the 15th country where Nedap’s RFID solution was chosen following twelve other European countries, Russia and China. Decathlon is the first retailer worldwide to use RFID instore in such a large geographical area. In 415 stores across the 15 countries, Nedap supplies hybrid RF/RFID electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems at the store exits for loss prevention purposes.

360° article surveillance
Decathlon’s main driver to implement RFID is to increase inventory accuracy and avoid out-of-stocks. To benefit fully from the RFID deployment, Decathlon uses the RFID tags on the merchandise for loss prevention purposes as well. This enables Decathlon to track the merchandise from end-to-end – from the arrival until the moment it leaves the store. In addition, Decathlon secures selected items with a high theft risk with an additional RF hard tag.

Loss prevention with hybrid RF/RFID technology
The solution Nedap provides consists of EAS systems with hybrid technology combining RF and RFID technology in one gate. Initially, all Nedap RF EAS gates that were installed prior to the RFID roll-out were upgraded to hybrid RF and RFID EAS systems. For this, a clip-in RFID reader was added to the already installed RF gates. All new stores are equipped with hybrid RF/RFID EAS gates right away.
