SML Group Ltd. selects Nedap as partner for ViziT.
NRF Big Show, New York. SML Group Ltd, a global brand identification solutions provider that supplies tags and labels to the retail apparel industry, today announced the launch of its new RFID solutions, which will carry the brand name of ViziT.
ViziT item visibility solutions provides for a full range of RFID/EAS enabled paper and woven labels, plus tickets and stickers that can be attached to apparel hanging and stacked items.
ViziT offers real time item visibility designed to aid a retail store as it strives to provide its customers with an improved product selection and in-store experience. Each label will carry its own unique GS1 EPC serial number, which may be attached to garments and items, which can then be tracked by means of the SML ViziT IT cloud based data management software. ViziT also provides for semi automated inventory control and offers improved Loss Prevention by triggering alarms and providing item identification at the store exit.
SML works along with the Impinj STP™ Source Tagging Platform and is able to offer high speed RFID chip encoding and label printing through its own global network of Service Bureaus* in locations, such as China, Korea, India, Bangladesh, Central America, USA and Europe. High speed encoding means that we can produce a very quick order turn around time for delivery of labels from receipt of order.
In addition to the core ViziT solutions SML is partnering with TAGSYS and Nedap Retail to offer a complete ‘one stop shop’ for all RFID hardware and systems solutions which are required to gather and manage the data throughout the retail store and logistics operations.

One aspect is a new visual corporate identity and proposition. The success of the individual business units will guide into the corporate Nedap brand at the national and international level.
Technology that matters
For the new corporate identity, Nedap has changed its colours, proposition, logo and design. The new logo is immediately striking in this context, thanks to the payoff 'technology that matters' and a sparkling asterisk. This asterisk symbolises the depth behind the company's solutions: Nedap develops intelligent, technological solutions for relevant themes. The asterisk also represents the spark of inspiration which Nedap wants to communicate, both internally and externally. The payoff 'technology that matters' emphasises the fact that Nedap works on technology that actually makes an impact.
New website
Together with brand strategy agency Ubachs Full Contact, Nedap has carried out a study into the Nedap brand. This showed that Nedap represents entrepreneurship on the cutting edge of technology, the market and society. Design firm Studio Kluif of Den Bosch developed a matching visual identity, which will be rolled out from December 2011. The new corporate website has already been realised in cooperation with eFocus: www.nedap.com.

Nedap starts RFID cooperation with Desigual
Nedap Retail has signed an agreement with Desigual, an innovative Spanish fashion retailer, to install RFID upgradeable anti-theft systems in all its stores worldwide. With these systems Nedap builds on the knowledge that RFID will continue to gain importance in retailing, without losing sight of the practical challenges of integrating the technology in day-to-day operations.
Nedap’s mission is to be a practical, dedicated and forward-looking partner in retailing. True to its corporate philosophy, to provide ‘technology that matters’, Nedap is planning to introduce more innovations that make RFID an integral part of retailing. One example is the recent release of ID Hand, a handheld device that makes in-store stocktaking faster, easier and more reliable.
The agreement covers equipping all future Desigual stores as well as removing all currently installed electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems. These will be replaced by Nedap security antennas, which support both RF and RFID functionality.
By introducing RFID-ready technology in all its stores Desigual has invested in a future-ready solution so it can continue to stand out in its market.
The agreement between the two companies was signed at Desigual´s headquarters in Barcelona.

Groenlo, the Netherlands – Dutch technology company Nedap Retail has signed an important deal with Desigual, the globally known fashion brand from Spain. Desigual was won over by the advantages of Nedap’s electronic RF/RFID technology to prevent theft. After a short pilot project Nedap was asked to equip all Desigual mono-brand stores with its RFID-ready systems.
